BRIDGWATER NEWS: Dampiet Street car park remains closed due to murder investigation

THE Dampiet Street car park in Bridgwater remains closed due to the ongoing police investigation into a murder at the weekend.

Customers are requested to use other town centre car parks until the Dampiet Street car park reopens.

The nearest car parks can be found at Mount Street, Northgate and Market Street.

A spokesman for Sedgemoor District Council said on Monday (October 22, 2018) that “further updates will be provided once known.”

A man was discovered with serious injuries at about 12.30pm on Saturday (October 20, 2018) at an address in George Street and was treated by paramedics including from air ambulance but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and police have been granted additional time to question him.  A second man, 46, has also been arrested in connection with the incident and also remains in police custody.
