SCHOOL NEWS: Hard work pays off for Haygrove School students with GCSE success

MONTHS of hard work paid off for Haygrove School students in Bridgwater when they were able to celebrate on Thursday (August 23, 2018) superb GCSE results.

The results came despite predictions that this year, across England, students might find it harder to obtain critical pass rates in English and Maths.

Overall 68% of Haygrove students gained grades 9–4 in both GCSE Mathematics and GCSE English which is an increase on last year’s pass rate - even though the 2018 exams were considered more challenging!

Despite the introduction of a tougher revised examination system, 3% of all grades were at Grade 9 which exceeds the widely predicted expectation that only 2% of students nationally would gain this new top grade.
