BRIDGWATER POLICE: Man left with fractured jaw after early morning attack

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked assault which left a man with a fractured jaw in Bridgwater.

The 18-year-old victim was punched in the face on High Street, Bridgwater, by a man who came up behind him.

The incident happened at about 3am on Sunday, June 24, 2018.

The victim had crossed the road moments before the incident to avoid a disorder which was taking place outside The Duke pub.

PC Rebecca Mason said: “I appreciate the incident happened some weeks ago now but we’ve only been able to recently speak to the victim due to the injuries he sustained in the attack.

“He’s described the offender as white, about 6ft tall, middle aged and wearing a cap. After he threw the punch, he then made off from the scene.

“We continue to carry out other enquiries but I’m hoping someone might recognise the description of the attacker or can recall witnessing the incident.”

If you can help, please call 101 and give the call handler the reference 5218139984.
