BRIDGWATER NEWS: Admiral Blake deserves a clean-up – it’s been three years since the last one
ONE of Bridgwater’s landmark statues has been given a much-needed spring clean.
Admiral Blake in Fore Street was given a wash and brush up on Thursday (June 14, 2018).
A spokesman for Sedgemoor District Council said: “A cleaning company used specialist cleaning techniques to make sure that the statue and granite plinth was returned to its former glory by removing grime, dirt and bird droppings.
“The bronze statue will also receive two coats of protective wax.”
The cost of cleaning the statute and plinth was placed at £1,050 with Admiral Blake last being given a proper wash in 2015.
