Dance performances started on Wednesday (March 7, 2018) and will continue through to Sunday (March 11, 2018) at the Princess Theatre.
Music instrumental and school choirs will be taking the limelight at the Highbridge Community Hall from Monday, March 12, 2018, through to Thursday, March 15, 2018.
On Friday, March 16, 2018, there will be music vocal classes at the Highbridge Community Hall and then from 6pm on Saturday, March 17, 2018, there will be adult choirs at St John’s Church in Highbridge.
The festival began in 1948 at the Highbridge Town Hall. It has grown from an afternoon of performances to a large event held over 12 days in three different venues with more than 2,300 performances in speech and drama, dance and music.
Performers are adjudicated by professional adjudicators, who are recognised by the British & International Federation of Festivals for Music, Dance and Speech, and marks are awarded using nationally recognised standards.
