CARNIVAL: Search is on for Carnival Concert front of curtain acts

THE Bridgwater Carnival Committee will be holding auditions in May for front of curtain acts to perform at the prestigious Carnival Concerts later this year.

The auditions will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in readiness for the Carnival Concerts which will take place at Bridgwater Town Hall between October 1-13, 2018.

If you have a talent or a desire to entertain then Bridgwater Carnival wants to hear from you.  Vocalists, dancers, musicians, magicians and anything in between are welcome to audition. All you need is the ability to entertain an audience for five minutes.

Last year’s auditions were the biggest yet with nearly 30 acts competing for the 13 coveted slots.

Carnival committee president, Malcolm Cattle, said: “Bridgwater is full of talent, there’s no doubting that, and the Carnival Concerts are a great place to gain some real experience of performing.

“It’s fun but also hard work for the two week run. We want to encourage local talent and we love to see new faces so if you want to give it a go, what’s stopping you?”

If you think you have what it takes to entertain an audience then please contact Anne Middleton on 07917662218 or complete the application form online on the Carnival website .

Forms are also available from the Carnival Centre on the High Street.

Closing date for applications is April 30, 2018.
