BRIDGWATER NEWS: New breakfast club is launched for Armed Forces personnel and veterans
AN ARMED Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club has been launched in Bridgwater and it served up a successful first get-together at the weekend.
The club will be held on the second Sunday of each month at the White Feather Café in West Quay, Bridgwater, and is being organised by Sheila Welland, an Army veteran herself, who can be contacted on 07950734343.
Sheila said: “We are looking for all veterans in the area to join us, so if anyone knows of older veterans, who may not be aware of social media, we encourage them to spread the word.
“It is hoped that we will grow in numbers, have social events and help those veterans who may otherwise not see so many people.”
The Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club network is growing fast through the nation.
It provides a relaxed breakfast where men and women, serving personnel and veterans, can chat informally to each other and build friendships, share stories and keep the bond of family that they carry having served within the Armed Forces.
The breakfast club in Bridgwater - which met for the first time on Sunday (February 11, 2018) - will meet from 10am on the second Sunday of each month.
