SOMERSET NEWS: M5 to remains closed as investigations continue
MOTORISTS are being urged to plan ahead following the tragic crash on the M5 in Somerset on Friday (February 9, 2018) morning which claimed the lives of one person and saw ten others injured.
The crash took place at 6.20am on the M5 between Taunton and Wellington and the road has been closed both ways between Junction 26 and Junction 25 until Friday evening.
A spokesman for Highways England said: “We are urging road users to plan ahead today if intending to use the M5 in Somerset/Devon.”
Police are carrying out extensive investigation work at the scene.
“We’re anticipating the M5 to be closed throughout the day and into the evening,” said a police spokesman.
While one person has tragically died, two other people are “receiving treatment for serious injuries” and five more are being treated in hospital.
