CARNIVAL 2017: Junction 24 of M5 is NOT closing because of Carnival

BRIDGWATER Carnival organisers have stressed that Junction 24 of the M5 will NOT be closing from 6pm ahead of the procession on Saturday (November 4, 2017).

There were concerns that misinformation had been circulating on social media suggesting that the motorway junction would be closing.

But a Carnival spokesman said: “This is NOT the case.”

However, the spokesman did clarify the situation: “Access into Bridgwater from Junction 24 on the A38 will be closed from 6pm on Saturday, but not the motorway junction itself.”

The spokesman added: “Our road closure order starts at the Showground Roundabout, but full residential access will be given up to Canal Bridge and our Park & Ride service will continue running.”
