BRIDGWATER NEWS: Kitchen fire at Kings Walk
FIREFIGHTERS were called out on Friday (November 3, 2017) night following reports of a fire at a property in Bridgwater.
The alarm was raised at 7.15pm by the occupant of the home in Kings Walk who said that their cooker and a kitchen towel were on fire and that they had safely evacuated the property.
Two fire engines from Bridgwater were mobilised and on arrival the officers confirmed there had been a fire involving cooking utensils left on the hob of the cooker, but was already out by the time they had arrived.
“Damage was minor with the utensils only sustaining fire damage and there was light smoke damage to the kitchen,” said a spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
“Once the area was made safe and fire safety advice had been given, we left duty of care with the occupier of the home.”
