SCHOOL NEWS: Chilton Trinity’s very own Press Gang

BUDDING young newshounds at Chilton Trinity School in Bridgwater are being trained up by professional journalists and photographers.

Year 7 students Frankie Toms, aged 11, Grace Knight, 11, and Freya Jones, 11, join experienced student journalists including Tia Chedzoy, 15, and Boo Baker, 13, to help find stories about other students and staff across the school.

They are now being trained by those working in the local media including Bridgwater Press photographer Jeff Searle, who is also a governor at the school, and professional football blogger Alex Crowther.

The school's journalism club has ten members.

Headteacher Lesley Greenway said: "We are delighted to get a new influx of Year 7 to join the experienced student journalists from the last few years.

“They are full of enthusiasm to get their good news out to the local newspapers and also across social media.”
