BRIDGWATER NEWS: Another housing plan for old Withy Cutter pub eyesore
A NEW housing development is being planned for the site of the former Withy Cutter pub in Bridgwater.
The proposals put forward by the Homes in Sedgemoor group include the building of six flats and three houses – along with associated access, parking and landscaping – at the former pub site on the junction of Frederick Road and Wyndham Road which has become a derelict eyesore.
A decision on the planning application is not likely to be made by Sedgemoor District Council until October 28, 2017, at the earliest.
Quattro Design Architects have been appointed by Homes in Sedgemoor to design the residential scheme for the Withycutter site.
“It is our aim to provide an attractive and appropriate scheme,” said a spokesman.
This is the latest planning application to come forward for the Withy Cutter site.
Last year Land Promotions (Development) Ltd was given permission by the council to build a block of 14 apartments on the site subject to conditions.
But these proposals – which had been received by the council some two years previously in August 2014 – have not materialised and so a fresh project has been submitted by Homes in Sedgemoor.
