SCHOOL NEWS: Elise braves the shave in memory of her grandad
A BRIDGWATER student has fulfilled her grandad's dying wish to shave her hair off for a cancer charity.
Elise Durban, aged 13, of Chilton Trinity School, shaved longer than a foot of her hair off for MacMillan Cancer Support with the hair going to the Little Princess Trust.
Her grandad Richard Davies died two years ago of cancer and asked Elise if she would 'Brave the Shave' to raise money for charity after he died. This month she did the shave and is looking to raise as much money as possible.
Family, friends and Chilton Trinity staff, as well as donators from America, are helping the charity amount go up by the day.
Last year her friend at Chilton, Alura-Rose De Vries also had her hair shaved for charity.
Elise said: “When my grandad died the last thing he said to me was to cut your hair off for charity. I wanted to grant his wish. If anyone would like to help please click my Just Giving link.”
Elise's want to work with disabled people as a job in the future.
Chilton Trinity headteacher Lesley Greenway said: “Well done to Elise. She is truly an inspirational student.”
