CARNIVAL: Clubs are on the ball for Freddy’s Fight for Life Appeal

CARNIVAL: Clubs are on the ball for Freddy’s Fight for Life Appeal

TEAMS from two of Bridgwater’s Carnival clubs swapped their cart sheds for the football pitch on Sunday (September 3, 2017) to take part in a charity match to help fund a potentially life-saving trip to the United States for a local four-year-old lad.

Gremlins CC and Marketeers CC did battle on the pitch at Bridgwater Town’s Fairfax Park to show their support for Freddy Vallender and his Fight 4 Life Appeal.

Freddy, who lives near Bridgwater, has a very rare and life-threatening heart condition and needs some specialist treatment to remove a cardiac tumour from his left ventricle.

But his family are trying to raise £90,000 to take him to Boston Children’s Hospital in Massachusetts for an operation that will change his life forever.

The family have been thrilled at the support they have received and were at the game on Sunday at Bridgwater Town FC which the Gremlins CC won comfortably 9-1.
