It happened on Tuesday (August 22, 2017) at about 8.10pm when a black coloured van pulled up alongside a 12-year-old girl in Charolais Drive.

The man got out of the vehicle and placed his hand on the wrist of the girl. Nothing was said.

The girl screamed and ran off and the man got back in the van and drove off towards Main Road.

A search was carried out in the area without success.

The man is described as a black man aged in his 30s, Afro style hair and a beard.

The van is described as a black van with blacked out rear windows and an up and over opening boot door.

A police spokesman said: “We believe a woman with curly white hair, wearing a long green skirt may have been walking with a small white dog in the area about the time the incident happened and we are keen to speak to her.

“We would like the woman and anyone else who was in the area at the time of the incident with information to help our enquiries by calling us on 101 and quoting reference 5217192534.”
