SEDGEMOOR NEWS: Mean thieves target family home

SECOND-HAND shop owners are being urged to be on their guard against receiving stolen goods following a burglary at a home in which a number of electronic items were stolen.

The burglary took place at sometime between July 24-28, 2017, in the Smith Way area of Highbridge near Burnham-on-Sea.

As well as electronic items, jewellery was also taken by the heartless thieves along with children’s money boxes.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen anything in that area and advising people to be on the lookout for the potentially stolen items at second-hand stores or car boot sales.

Two limited edition items were taken during the burglary – a red Playstation 4 – Metal Gear Solid 5 limited edition and a red XboxOne – Gears of War limited edition.

Additionally a silver Sony laptop was taken together with the following items – a Delphi fault reader; a red Nintendon 3DS XL in red with red case; a red Nintendo DS Lite; a black Samsung Galaxy Tab S3; a white Kidzstar tablet with orange rubber case; a Doogee X5 Smart Phone; a dark blue coloured Acer laptop; a 9ct gold ring, featuring a 1/3 carat diamond on top; a thin gold chain with K pendant; a silver chain with a silver and pearl pendant; a gold coloured XBOX 360 controller; plus three children’s money boxes (two superhero ducks and one Dory style); and a red Toshiba external hard drive.

A police spokesman said: “We are appealing for second-hand shops to be vigilant and would also appeal to anyone who has been offered any of the above to contact us on 101 quoting reference 5217172112.”
