BRIDGWATER NEWS: Official opening for £28k refurb toddler play area

A REFURBISHED toddler play area in Bridgwater was officially opened on Wednesday (August 9, 2017) evening after a £28,000 make-over.

The new equipment that has been installed at the play area in Edinburgh Road is a large climbing frame which features a slide, bridge, fireman’s pole, playhouse and play panels alongside a roundabout, four-person springer, single springer, two toddler swings and a play train.

All the new equipment is set into new rubber bonded mulch surfacing.

Cllr Mike Cresswell, chairman of Sedgemoor District Council, said: “We are sure the new equipment will be a big hit with families in the local area.

“We would like to thank Hamp Community Association who helped fund the installation works and local ward councillors for working with us to support this fantastic project.”

The council chairman was joined by other council representatives and members of the Hamp Community Association for the official opening.

Sedgemoor District Council project-managed the installation and will maintain the equipment.
