BRIDGWATER NEWS: Vehicle and caravan jack-knifes on M5
EMERGENCY services were called out on Wednesday (July 19, 2017) morning following a crash on the M5 motorway near Bridgwater.
The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at just before 6.45am to the problem between Junction 23 at Dunball and Junction 24 at Huntworth.
“We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle and one caravan being towed,” said a Fire Service spokesman.
Two fire engines from Bridgwater and one from Burnham-on-Sea were mobilised to attend the incident.
Firefighters found the incident involved lanes two and three of the M5 and that one person was still inside the vehicle and caravan which had jack knifed and were still attached.
“We got to work stabilising the vehicles and making the scene safe,” added the Fire Service spokesman.
